FORCED ADOPTIONS SCANDAL - CHILDREN REMOVED FROM THEIR SCHOOL

12.02.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Sun 4th Jul 2010

Just when you thought it could get no worse Dudley Council, who cancelled the contact between three children and their Mother recently (see earlier story below), have now removed the three children from their local school THREE WEEKS before the end of the school year.

The children are extremely upset. The eldest child in particular was really looking forward to attending the Leavers Service at the school and being in the school play. She now feels she is being excluded. The children were only told a week before they were due to be moved - not asked - told - whatever happened to "Listening to Children and Young People" a Committee Lynn Boleyn chaired whilst she was a local Dudley Councillor?

The children were taken out of school on Friday despite the Mother desperately trying through the Court to stop this happening. The Judge said he had no powers to stop the Local Authority doing this.

It is important to remember here that the Mother has never harmed her children - they were taken from her because her ex-partner abused her eldest child and he is now serving a very long prison sentence - so not likely to turn up on the doorstep or be a threat to the family.

The children have been taken away from their loving Mother - who they desperately want to be reunited with - they have been taken away from their eldest sister (in a separate foster home) and taken away from their youngest sister (in another different foster home). Now the Local Authority have taken them away from their school and the school friends they have been with since they were four years of age - probably the only stability they had in their lives at this present time. They have been told they will be 'moving out of the county' to a new foster home.

Can anyone tell us how this can possibly be in the best interests of these children?

They have been in their current foster home for 14 months - can 3 weeks have made such a difference - why not wait until the end of the school year and then move the children if it is really necessary to move the children at all?

What the social workers in Dudley are doing could possibly be construed as Emotional Abuse and has really upset the children. The best thing for these children is now to be reunited with their Mother as a matter of urgency.

We are further concerned that despite the fact that the Mother still has parental rights she was not even consulted - indeed the social workers will not even tell her where her children are being moved to or what school they will be going to.

In an e-mail recently the Mother wrote:-

" I asked her if she wanted to do those things at school, she said yes she was looking forward to it, and felt she was being left out, she also said she doesn't want to move away. These childrens feelings are not being taken into consideration, and the fact they have been frightened into not expressing their thoughts or feelings is an absolute outrage, they have to be stopped, this is bulling in it's highest form, something has got to be done".

This is the 6th case that we have come across in just the last few weeks in Dudley. If your children or your grandchildren have been taken away from you then please let us know and we will do what we can to help.

Also - write to your local Councillors and your local MP and ask them to look into the matter for you as well. Also take time to read Christopher Bookers column in the Sunday Telegraph today and also the comments at the end of his column. Thank goodness people like him are also doing everything they can to highlight this scandal. You can also add your comments and write your letters to the Sunday Telegraph.
