FORCED ADOPTIONS SCANDAL - THE CARE SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK
Thu 22nd Jul 2010
We have recently met a young Mother from Dudley who had her 6 week old baby taken from her and is being put up for adoption. The Mother herself was taken into care when she was 7 where she was sexually abused by a male foster carer and unbelievably got pregnant whilst she was in a childrens home! This baby is probably the best thing that has ever happened to her and she desperately wants to keep her baby. Her baby is now with foster carers who are paid around £400 per week to look after him - as we have mentioned before why don't they spend that money helping this young Mother to keep her baby whom she clearly dotes on. It certainly can't be in the best interests of the baby to be taken from his Mother at such a young age and if the baby is adopted it will destroy the Mother.

FORCED ADOPTIONS SCANDAL-TIME TO BRING FAMILY LAW TO BOOK
Tue 20th Jul 2010
Christopher Booker in The Sunday Telegraph this week again writes about the seizing of children by social workers from loving families on what appears to be the "flimsiest and most questionable grounds" Children are then put into foster homes where the foster carers receive £400 per week per child. The question has to be asked - why don't they use this money to help the Mother and the families instead of tearing families apart? One family of five Sisters has been in foster care for the last 15 months in Dudley - 3 of them have now just been moved to a foster home in Gloucester - we are told at extortionate cost (out of Borough placements we are told are far more expensive because outside agencies are used). The children are extremely unhappy about this move and leaving their school friends in Dudley and just want to go home to their Mother who has never harmed them (they were removed due to her ex partner abusing her eldest daughter - he is now serving a long prison sentence). Add to that the barristers fees; court costs; solicitors, Judges, psychologists reports; assessment centre and contact appointments; etc .... No wonder our Childrens Services Department is way over budget.

FORCED ADOPTIONS SCANDAL - CONTACT CANCELLED
Sat 3rd Jul 2010
We were horrified to learn last week that a Mother had a note pushed through her letter box by Dudley Social Services at 6.30 p.m. on Wednesday evening cancelling the contact with her three children the following day. She was extremely upset as it was her daughter's 10th birthday and she had made a cake specially and bought lots of party food to enable them to have a celebration at the contact meeting. No doubt the children would have been very upset too. If the Mother had cancelled contact at such short notice she would no doubt have been highly criticised by Social Services for letting her children down. Despite the fact that we tried to intervene and ask Social Services to re-consider their actions they refused. Was this in the best interests of the children - we don't think so.

FORCED ADOPTIONS SCANDAL
Tue 29th Jun 2010
We were contacted at the end of April to assist a young Mother in trying to get her two young children reunited with her. They were taken from her by Dudley Social Services and put up for adoption because the eldest child was allegedly injured by the Mother's ex-partner although he was never charged with the offence and walked away scott free. There is no evidence that the Mother ever harmed her two children and she terminated the relationship with her ex-partner two years ago. Despite the fact that we took this case to the Court of Appeal in London we were unable to stop the forced adoption of these two children who should have been returned to their mother. We are now in the process of taking this case to the European Court of Human Rights.
